The
Eckerts founded Eckert Fine Art in Indiana, a gallery specializing in 19th and early
20th century American
and European Art.
After
moving to Florida in 1996, they opened a gallery in Olde Naples featuring the finest of Modern and
Contemporary art. Important shows were mounted on Robert Rauschenberg Beamer Paintings and
the BMW Art Car,
Christo and Jeanne-Claude Gates and Over the River, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir Art and Archives.
In
June, 2008, Jane Eckert relocated Eckert Fine Art to Kent, Connecticut, just 90 miles north of New
York City. Kent, a charming New England town, is known for its rich artistic heritage and serves
as a perfect backdrop
for her new gallery. Nineteenth and early 20th Century painters such as Ernest Lawson
and Hugh Bolton Jones mingle
beautifully with great Contemporary giants like Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns and Ed Ruscha.
Jane
has lectured on art and has published books such as The Hoosier Group, 5 American Painters by
Judith
Newton and Dr. William H. Gerdts. She has also curated shows for The Evansville Museum of Art,
The Butler Institute
of American Art and The Naples Philharmonic Museum of Art. She has served as Secretary of the
Fine Art Dealers
Association (FADA) and is currently Chair of the Directors Advisory Committee at Mass MoCA.
Eckert
Fine Art Connecticut, Inc. is a member of the Fine Art Dealers Association and exhibits annually
at
the Los Angeles Art Show and Palm Beach 3.
